Relationship Issues

Most couples wait years before getting help. By then the same argument has played out a hundred times, and one or both of you feel unheard, alone, or ready to give up.

Therapy gives you a structured space to slow those conversations down, understand what each of you is really needing, and learn new ways to talk and repair after a fight.

People often come in because:

• You have the same fight over and over

• You feel more like roommates than partners

• Trust has been broken and you do not know how to rebuild it

• You disagree about money, parenting, family, or intimacy

• One of you wants out and the other is not ready

• You are not sure whether to stay together, and want to decide with clarity

What to expect

Most insurance will not pay for marriage counseling as it is not viewed by them as “medically necessary.” In most cases, we can see one partner in the relationship as the “identified patient” and can have the other partner participate in the treatment to address the distress from the relationship. If you choose to approach care in this fashion, then the “identified patient” must set up the portal account.
